“We've been visiting Tomatoes as a family for many years, so this review comes from loyal customers rather than first-time visitors. Sadly, our recent experience at the Tapovan Circle branch was by far the worst we've ever had. We ordered sushi, Khowswey soup and a chicken pizza. The soup was excellent, but the sushi had an unpleasant stale oil flavour. At first, the manager denied there was anything wrong, but after we insisted that we know how this dish usually tastes, he replaced it and admitted that the garnish on top was the problem. That part was handled professionally. The pizza, however, was another disappointment. It was filled with mostly raw onions, raw capsicum and mushrooms, making it feel undercooked and completely unlike the quality we've experienced at Tomatoes over the years. Despite raising the concern, we were simply told that's how the pizza is prepared. We chose not to eat it. What made the experience unacceptable was spotting a large rat moving around inside the restaurant while we were waiting for our bill. We informed the manager immediately, and although he acted quickly, this should never happen in a restaurant. It's disappointing because we've always recommended Tomatoes to friends and family. This visit fell far below the standards we've come to expect. We genuinely hope the management addresses the food quality and hygiene issues because this experience has left us questioning whether we'll visit this branch again.”
