“Extremely Disappointing Experience with Swiggy and This Restaurant I have been a loyal Swiggy customer for years and have placed thousands of orders, but this has been the most frustrating experience I have ever faced. Due to a technical issue in the Swiggy app, my first order was not visible after I placed it. Since there was no confirmation or order status, I genuinely believed that the order had failed and placed a second order. Immediately after placing the second order, my first order suddenly appeared as confirmed. I accepted and paid for the first order without any issue. I cancelled the second order only because it became unnecessary due to the app's technical failure. Most importantly, the second order was never prepared by the restaurant, never dispatched, never delivered to me, and I never received or consumed the food. The restaurant did not incur any food cost or financial loss. Despite this, Swiggy deducted the entire order amount and refused to refund even a single rupee. Instead of investigating the app issue, they simply hid behind their cancellation policy and sent automated responses without addressing the actual problem. Charging a customer for food that was never prepared, never dispatched, never delivered, and never consumed is completely unfair and unacceptable. Customers should not be forced to pay for a technical failure caused by the platform itself. I expected accountability, transparency, and fair customer support, but I received none. If this matter is not resolved and my refund is not processed, I will be compelled to pursue the matter through the appropriate consumer grievance authorities. I strongly advise customers to be cautiously while ordering through Swiggy, especially when the app experiences technical issues. A company that refuses to take responsibility for its own system failures risks losing the trust of its loyal”
