Hocco Eatery (Vastrapur Lake)

“This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at Hocco. My friend and I visited for dinner around 11:00–11:30 PM. We ordered our food, ate, and when we went to pay the bill, the cashier suddenly informed us that since it was after 12 AM, they would only accept cash because their billing system was closed and online payments were not allowed. At no point before ordering were we informed about this rule. We explained that we didn't have cash or a card and offered to transfer the amount to the cashier personally so he could deposit the cash himself. He refused, saying he would get terminated if the transaction showed up on his account. We were then forced to leave the restaurant and search for a nearby bank/ATM in the middle of the night. The nearby bank wasn't able to help either, so we returned and requested again if they could accept payment another way. By this point, even the other staff members said we could transfer the money to their personal phones and they would provide the cash. Yet the cashier still refused without offering any practical solution. Only after a long argument and unnecessary drama did they finally allow us to pay using Hocco's own QR code the exact method they had initially refused. To make matters worse, they didn't even provide us with a bill. If your billing system closes after midnight, customers should be informed before they place an order and not after they've finished eating. Making customers run around for cash at midnight because of your internal policies is completely unacceptable. Extremely disappointing experience. I won't be visiting again, and I definitely wouldn't recommend late-night dining here.”

“Had lunch at Hocco Restaurant, located in a prime area of Vastrapur. Finding parking can be a bit of a challenge. The service was quite slow, with just one server attending to all the tables. It took around 15 minutes for our food to arrive after placing the order. That said, the food was served piping hot. We ordered the Kulcha Chole, which was delicious. The kulchas were crisp and flavourful, and the accompanying pickle was a standout. You can also order an additional serving of kulcha and chole for a small extra charge. The Veg Pulao was generously loaded with vegetables, which was a plus, but it contained a little too much oil for my liking. The chaas was average. The Tiramisu Chocolate Ice Cream Stick was a disappointment, as it lacked flavour and could definitely use some improvement. The restaurant is reasonably priced and easy on the pocket. The person at the counter was pleasant, courteous, and eager to help. However, cleanliness inside the restaurant is an area that needs attention. Overall, a budget-friendly place with good food, but improvements in service speed and cleanliness would make the experience much better.”

“Pratap was very Rude. I ordered a Sundae, He said you have to get up if there is any customer. I mean I have already ordered premium sundae and he treats as Joke. I recommend to fire him immediately.”
