“I am an Advocate, and my office is located in the building behind this café. My colleagues and I have been regular visitors to this establishment. Unfortunately, I had a very disturbing experience during my recent visit. My friend and I went to use the washroom when one of the staff members rudely stopped us and stated that we were not allowed to use it. I politely requested him to speak respectfully, but instead he responded aggressively, saying, "I won't speak politely. If you come here again, it won't be good for you." What was even more shocking was that within moments, two to three other staff members surrounded us and started arguing aggressively instead of trying to resolve the situation professionally. Their behaviour was intimidating, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. If the café has a policy restricting the use of its washroom which are very dirty bad smelles, the staff should communicate it courteously and professionally. There is absolutely no justification for threatening or intimidating customers. I found this conduct highly inappropriate and unacceptable. Customers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of the café's internal policies. I expect the management to conduct a proper inquiry into this incident, take appropriate action against the staff involved, and ensure that no customer has to face such rude, threatening, and unprofessional behaviour in the future. I hope the management will address this matter promptly and restore customers' confidence in the establishment.”
